Verification
Know who's bidding on your home.
Contractors must meet BuildBids verification requirements before they can submit a bid. Here is exactly what 'Verified Contractor' means.
Identity verified
We confirm the identity of the individual behind the business so you know who you're dealing with.
Business verified
We confirm the business is registered and that the registration details match the applying company.
Google Business Profile required
Every contractor must have an established public Google Business Profile. We record the profile URL, business name, rating and review count.
Commercial liability insurance verified
We collect the insurer, policy number, expiry date and a certificate. When insurance expires, the account moves to Action Required and bidding is disabled until valid coverage is supplied.
Trade credentials checked where applicable
Where a licence or certification is required for the trade, we collect it and record its expiry date.
No scores. No rankings. No paid placement.
BuildBids does not rate or score contractors. We confirm factual information — identity, business registration, Google Business Profile, $2,000,000 CAD liability insurance and applicable trade credentials — and show it alongside Google reputation and verified BuildBids project reviews.
Verification can never be purchased. Advertising, subscriptions and featured placement do not affect it.
BuildBids verification confirms information supplied by contractors and third parties. It does not constitute a guarantee of contractor performance or workmanship.
Verification statuses
- Application Incomplete — profile not finished

Verification is not a guarantee of contractor performance, workmanship or project completion. Homeowners should always review bids, references and agreements independently.
